2015:I didn’t ask Amaechi for Rivers’ money –Patience Jonathan

Hmmmm Election oo ....Remember Governor Amaechis comment about our First Lady, well this is what she has to say to Naijarians.

Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, on Sunday denied a statement credited to Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State that she asked him to share the state’s funds with her.

Amaechi had while speaking in Port Harcourt at the joint graduation of the students of the University of Ibadan and pioneer graduates of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, on Saturday was quoted as saying that his problem with Mrs. Jonathan started after he rejected her demand.

“I refused to give them money in Abuja because if I do that, I won’t be able to carry out any development project or finish the road from Rumuolumeni to Rumuepirikom.

“The quarrel between me and the wife of the President is because she said I should bring your money, Rivers people, money and share with her,” the governor reportedly said.

But Mrs. Jonathan, in a statement by her media assistant, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, said Amaechi’s statement was a deliberate attempt to malign her and score cheap political point.

She further described the governor’s statement as a lie designed to denigrate her person and rubbish the Presidency.

She said she could not have made such a request from the governor either directly or indirectly.

The statement read, “Having waited patiently for Governor Amaechi to refute the statement credited to him about the First Lady, (with the assumption that he was misquoted), it has become clear that it was a deliberate attempt to malign Dame Patience Jonathan and score cheap political point.

“The governor may have been beclouded by the political uncertainty surrounding him to make such a jaundiced and unsubstantiated allegation that the First Lady asked him to bring Rivers State’s money to share.

“This is a blatant lie designed to denigrate the person of Dame Patience Jonathan and rubbish the Presidency. This is to say the least, most unfortunate.

“It is crystal clear that Governor Amaechi is looking for a cheap excuse for his failure in the governance of the state. We say without any iota of equivocation that the First Lady never made such a request and could not have done so in any way either directly and indirectly.

“The First Lady as an indigene of Rivers State is more concerned with the socio-economic development of the state and in a peaceful atmosphere. This guerrilla political warfare must stop.”

PIC:300l UNIBEN student killed on campus by unknown gunmen

A 300 level student of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Physical Sciences at the University of Benin in Edo state, Ejiroghene Gbenidio (pictured above) was shot dead by unknown gunmen inside the Ugbowo campus of the school on Friday October 24th.

According to reports, Ejiro was attending the jeans carnival of the final year students of his faculty when he was accosted and shot in the head. He died instantly. 

His body has been deposited at the Benin Teaching Hospital morgue. The matter is now being handled by the police at the Ugbowo Police station.

Some students say they suspect it might have been as a result of a fallout between rival cult groups.

Funny:Child targeted with death threats after killing rare deer.

A little boy who killed an albino deer is now the target of death threats according to this Thursday news report by The Huffington Post, all over online outrage over the killing. Gavin Dingman, 11, was on a hunting trip with his father when he reportedly took the 12-point-buck down with his crossbow -- which is an amazing feat for a child his age. Also amazing is the fact that albino deer only seem to occur ever so often -- estimated at once in every 20,000 to 100,000 deer births. As news reports have pointed out, what was intended to be a proud moment for the boy and his family (and anyone else who is in the hunting culture) has now become fodder for angry people who have reportedly gone way too far in expressing their anger.
All people are, of course, entitled to their opinions, but when opinions turn into harassment that crosses a very important line. That's especially when that harassment comes in the form of death threats, and the target is an 11-year-old child. What doesn't make sense about the entire idea of threatening to kill this child is the fact that it's done out of anger for him killing an animal. Why would a person who is against killing living things then turn around and condone-via-threat the murder of a human child? This is indeed a truly deplorable display of poor human behavior.
You don't have to agree with what Gavin Dingman did to respect that the lad is growing up in a culture that involves hunting and country living in general. Perhaps when he is older he may also respect that nature is just as wondrous when observed in a nonviolent manner -- but teaching him that lesson isn't going to be easy when people are threatening to kill him. What should be questioned about this situation is whether or not the media actually fanned the flames of division that started these death threats in the first place?

Shocking: Father reunites with kids he abandoned for 8 years

The father who abandoned his three children at an Ogun State boarding school for eight years because he couldn’t afford to take care of them has finally re-united with his children.
According to Punch, the dad, Segun Adepegba, was extremely emotional when he saw his kids. Locking them in a tight embrace, he promised to never abandon them again.
“I am sorry for leaving you, Titi, Seun and Seyi. I am really very sorry. I have missed you all so much. I will not leave you again,” he said to his children.
When he arrived at the school, Solid Model College, there was an angry mob waiting to attack him because they were angry about the fact that he had left his children alone for so long. However, three of Adepegba’s friends who accompanied him on the visit, managed to assuage the crowd, telling them he was sorry for his actions, and that he was a changed man.
The proprietor of the school, Ademola Adeyemi, was overjoyed by his Adepegba’s visit, calling it a miracle, as he had prayed incessantly for his return. “This has shown that God truly answers prayers,” he said.

As the official retirement of Hon.  Justice Mariam Aloma Mukhtar draws near, the FJSC has nominated Justice Mahmud Mohammed to replace the outgoing CJN.
Justice Mariam Aloma Mukhar who made history as the first femle Chief Judge of the Fedration is set to retire by November 20 when she would have attained the mandatory retirement age of 70. She was born on November 20, 1944.

nick Canon donates $2.2million dollar diamond encrusted shoes to charity.

You remember the $2.2million diamond-encrusted loafers Nick Cannon wore to the grand finale of America's Got Talent in September? Well, he has donated it to a children's hospital. The actor and TV host donated the foot wear to the St Mary's Hospital for Children in Queens, New York.

The shoes will be auctioned off at a later date and the hospital will keep all the money made from selling it. Nick says he's happy to donate the shoes

"I want to keep this children's hospital going. It's one of the oldest children hospitals in New York. You got there and it puts everything into perspective. You see all that they are going through and that they can still have a smile on their faces. I get so much out of it. I'm glad to do this" Nick said
